From Piombino, you can take the ferry to Elba. The 10 kilometer crossing takes about 60 minutes. The ferry services travel to the harbours of Portoferraio, Cavo or Rio Marina. Elba is also accessible via a fast hydrofoil (no cars) and the journey takes between 20 and 35 minutes depending upon the harbour of departure.
